In a recent TED talk, the OECD’s Andreas Schleicher singled out Poland as being one of the countries which has successfully used PISA results to improve their national educational standards.

This drive to assimilate and act on learnings from around the world comes as no surprise to us here at RM: it’s a characteristic we’ve noted throughout our association with CKE, Poland’s national exam board.

Case in point: in February we were invited by CKE to contribute international insights to a conference in Warsaw on the deployment of onscreen marking of exam scripts. The exam board is at the beginning of a country-wide rollout of RM’s Scoris Assessor (now known as RM Assessor) onscreen marking software for the country’s national exams. Three members of the RM team delivered presentations to around 100 delegates from the education sector in Poland, setting out transferable learnings from working with a UK exam board on a national rollout of Scoris Assessor.

The conference was attended by delegates from across Polish education, including a representative from the Ministry of Education – highlighting the importance attributed to the onscreen marking project. We were delighted to be able to contribute some of our own international experience to CKE and are looking forward to supporting the rest of the journey to onscreen assessment.
